PIHMA Affiliations

Sonoran University has been a partner of PIHMA for many years. Sharing library resources and facilitating transfer of classes between the colleges, this relationship provides naturopathic students with more learning opportunities in Asian medicine, including a chance to become nationally certified as an Acupuncturist (and vice versa).

The Arizona Academy of Emergency Services provides a practical, affordable, and quality training experience to both healthcare providers and lay-rescuers alike. Offering classes paramedic and EMT certification and more.

Southwest Institute of Healing Arts is a conscious college community for holistic wellness and education offering a wide variety of classes, certificates and degrees.

The Arizona Coalition for Military Families (the Coalition) is a nationally recognized public/private partnership focused on building Arizona’s statewide capacity to care for, serve and support all service members, veterans, their families and communities.

Clinical Partnerships

Student Veterans of America, is a 501 non-profit organization focused on addressing the needs and concerns of American military veterans in higher education. SVA is best known for being an umbrella organization for student veterans’ groups that advocates for improvements in veterans educational benefits. PIHMA’s division is called Student Veterans of Acupuncture.

The CCAHM was formed in 1982 to advance the standing of Acupuncture and Herbal medicine in the U.S. by promoting educational excellence within the field. The mission of the Council is to support member institutions to deliver educational excellence and quality patient care.

NCCAOM is responsible for the development and administration of the Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Oriental Medicine Certification Programs. They evaluate and attest to the competency of its National Board-Certified AcupuncturistsTM through rigorous eligibility standards and demonstration and assessment of the core knowledge, skills and abilities expected for an entry level practitioner of acupuncture and Oriental medicine.

ACAHM’s mission is to serve as the nationally recognized accrediting agency of programs in Acupuncture and Herbal medicine and institutions exclusively providing Acupuncture and Herbal medicine-related programs.

The Southwest Center for HIV/Aids serves individuals touched by HIV/AIDS through prevention, education, client-centered services, and coordinated care in collaboration with community partners.

The Recovery Empowerment Network (REN) is a community service agency staffed by those who have lived experience. With 15 years of history serving Maricopa County and guiding our members through all varieties of recovery, we have acquired a unique and diverse approach to intentional emotional wellness through groups, activities, community outings & events.

With the help of volunteer physicians, nurses, medical professionals and through our partnerships with local medical schools and diagnostic services, the Virginia G. Piper Medical Clinic provides care ranging from the treatment of acute illnesses to chronic diseases such as diabetes.
