Put Down the Crackberry - PIHMA Offers Something New For your Ears

PHOENIX, AZ, JULY 31, 2009 – In celebration of the third annual City of Phoenix “Stress Free Day,” the experts at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture (PIHMA) will offer $10 acupuncture services for the ear, one of the most effective spots on the body to help combat what many consider America’s most overlooked epidemic -- stress.

Stress, a constant factor in the lives of many, can manifest itself in a variety of ways, both physically and mentally. While an issue among Americans for decades, the need to be constantly looped in to colleagues and clients 24 hours a day via sites like Facebook and Twitter, and the inability of half the workforce to put down the Blackberry even during family time, only exacerbates the growing problem.

That’s why PIHMA, the state’s oldest and largest accredited Asian Medicine school, will offer a $10.00 acupuncture session for the ear throughout the month of August, joining local businesses big and small as they do their part to minimize the effects of day to day strain on Phoenicians.

“Acupuncture and Asian medicine can be extremely effective in treating all kinds of stress,” said Catherine Niemic, PIHMA President and Founder. “Stress Free Day is a great cause, and we’re happy to be able to not only join in the effort, but provide an alternative treatment to help combat something with such a profound influence on our physical and mental well-being.”
